Genesis win TPi Award

Congratulations go out to all the people who made last year’s ‘Turn It On Again’ tour a huge success, as at the 2008 awards for Total Production Magazine, Genesis received the accolade for ‘Live Production of the Year’. Also, Stage Designer, Mark Fisher received the ‘Lifetime Contribution Award’, whilst Patrick Woodroffe picked up ‘Lighting Designer of the Year’.

Mike Rutherford attended the presentations which took place on February 17th.

Top US grossing tours

Following on from a recent article, Pollstar has released their list of top US grossing tours for this year. Despite having been 2nd in the international tours list, the band's North American shows only placed them in 8th position with a gross of $47.6m, but had the 3rd highest average ticket price with $130.39.

Extended Twickenham Broadcast

BBC Radio 2 will air a special 90 minute re-broadcast of the gig at Twickenham (July 8th) which was mixed by Genesis producer Nick Davis. Tune in December 29th between 5.00 and 6.30pm (GMT) to listen. Alternatively you can listen online here.

#2 for Turn It On Again

According to a recent Billboard article, Genesis' 2007 "Turn It On Again" Tour was the 2nd highest grossing of the year, with the 46 shows in Europe and North America making $129million. They were beat out by The Police by a big margin.
